Grow in Your Spiritual Journey

Spiritual Growth for Children
Children always begin and end in worship with us because we believe it is important for children to be full participants in our community. Each Sunday Pastor Jen offers a child-in-us-all message and invites any kids (or kids at heart) forward to engage in the good news of God's love through the awe and wonder of a child.
When children leave for their own time spiritual growth, they are invited into something called Godly Play, a montessori based, storytelling time lovingly led by members of our community.
Godly Play:
-
shares the sacred stories of our faith in a creative, open, engaging way
-
encourages kids to wonder and form their own thoughts and opinions
-
validates each child's own spiritual journey
-
teaches the values of community, respect, and love.
Spiritual Growth for Adults
You are encouraged to participate in Spiritual growth opportunities outside of Sunday morning worship. Periodically Pastor Jen, other members of the congregation, or guest speakers offer bible studies, classes, talks, art workshops, or current events conversations. Check the most recent newsletter or calendar for upcoming offerings.
Beloved Community Groups are also a way for you to grow and go deeper in your journey. They are primarily focused on connection, spiritual friendship and community building. They will teach you to listen more deeply to other's stories, your own, and where God is in each story -- they will help you develop the art of prayer and challenge you to live into your faith.
A Window into the Pastor's Study
Most weeks Pastor Jen sends out an eLetter to help us prepare for our time of worship together. It includes questions for reflection, video clips and articles referenced in the sermon, or audio clips of songs we are singing that season. Many have found these a helpful companion to Sunday mornings, giving them resources to continue prayerfully pondering and reflecting throughout the week or to spiritually ready themselves for Sunday morning. Others use these them alongside the online sermons when they are traveling to keep growing spiritually alongside the Good Sam community.
